How to reach Volos from the State Airport of Nea Anchialos

The Airport of Nea Anchialos is situated 3 km after the exit of the node of Almyros Magnisias of highway E75. The airport has connection with the bus KTEL – Magnesia buses for reaching the town of Volos & and you may find also a taxi outside the Airport.

By Road

From Athens: On the E75 National Road from Athens, you pass Lamia. As you approach Almyros, turn right, following the signs for the Airport.

From Thessaloniki: On the E75 National Road from Thessaloniki, you pass Larisa and head towards Lamia. As you approach Volos, you pass “Velestino” Exit and “Aerino” Exit and you continue straight. You reach “Mikrothives” Exit and after 5 km you will see on your left the signs towards the Airport which is located at less than 2 km from the National Road.

From Igoumenitsa-Ioannina: As you come from Igoumenitsa, you pass Ioannina and head towards Trikala. After Trikala, you drive with direction to Larisa. You pass Larisa and drive with direction to Lamia. As you approach Volos, you pass “Velestino” Exit and “Aerino” Exit and continue straight. You reach “Mikrothives” Exit. After 5km, you find the junction to the Airport of Nea Anchialos and turn right following the signs.

From Patra: As you come from Patra, you drive on the E55 National Road to Rio. You arrive to Antirrio. You take the E65 National Road to Nafpaktos-Amfisa and look for signs E75 towards Lamia-Larisa. You pass Lamia. As you approach Almyros, you reach the junction to Nea Anchialos Airport and turn right.

By Rail

You arrive by train from Athens, Larisa or Thessaloniki at Volos Railway Station. (For schedules, please visit the website www.ose.gr or call 1110). From there, you can go to the Intercity Bus Station located at a distance of 1km. Buses depart from the Bus Station to the Airport, planned to arrive before scheduled flights.
