your journey from Volos, the main town of Magnesia in Thessalia, the
traveller can follow two different routes to reach the beautifull village
of Agios Ioannis in Pelion.
1. The 1st route is a combination of a seaside road and part through the mountain of Pelion. With a total distance of 60 km this trip reveals the beauty of the Pagasitikos Gulf with a route via beautiful and traditional vilages of Pelion where most villas and houses are build with special architecture such as in Milies and Tsagarada. 2. The 2nd route is a shorter way of 52 km and reveals all the beauty of the mountain Pelion as the traveller goes via the villages of Portaria and the ski center of Chania where Pelion's highest peaks "Pliasidi" - 1.548 m & "Pourianos Stavros" - 1.610 m ) are. Which ever of these 2 routes you choose to follow you can follow the other one on your way back. The two routes meet in the village of Agios Dimitrios and in about 3.5 km you can find Apartments "Felitsia" in Agios Ioannis. |

The KTEL bus departs from the KTEL station in Volos and travels the route of Volos - Agios Ioannis in 1 hour and 30 minutes. The bus follows the coastal route and goes by the following villages, which are named in order : Agria, Kato Lexonia, Ano Lexonia, Kala Nera, Milies, Kalamaki, Labinou, Xourichti, Tsagarada, Kissos, Agios Dimitrios and Agios Ioannis.
